American Politics are so unserious

  1. It all resonates, but you gotta change up the frequency, or else people get bored of one set of accurate talking points after another. Is that an indictment of our country? Yes, but we already learned that in 2016 (and truthfully much earlier than that).

  2. The reason the former approach doesn’t work is because no political party has the moral authority to claim these kinds of things about their opponents. When you say these things, you’re speaking with a voice you think you have, but you really just don’t.

Being weird isn’t a moral condemnation, it’s an unburdened, almost light-hearted mocking of the other party’s culture and behavior. It’s much easier for normal people to buy into that.
