However this does not mean that they are able to maintain a fighting force superior to the whole of Europe. For example when they bought a new armoured vehicle last year, there is a reasonable chance it is wreckage by now, as are its occupants. Paying ever more extravagant sign up fees to get people in uniform, also does little for long term effectiveness. War is loss.
