> Prosecutor Scotten Hagen wrote in his resignation letter on Friday that US laws and traditions do not allow for “using prosecutorial power” to influence elected officials.
> “If no lawyer within earshot of the President is willing to give him that advice, then I **expect you will eventually find someone who is enough of a fool, or enough of a coward, to file your motion,**” Scotten wrote in the letter addressed to Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove. “**But it was never going to be me.**”

For those who didn’t know, the DOJ prosecutor who blew the whistle on the corrupt Adams deal & was the 1st to resign rather than drop the case against Adams is a Federalist Society member & was a clerk for Justice Scalia. She was appointed by Trump on January 21 to be acting US Attorney for the Southern District of New York & could’ve had a lucrative future in right wing legal politics during (and even after) the Trump era but she gave all that up because she didn’t want to follow a corrupt order. It’s telling that even someone who grew up in staunchly right wing legal politics & probably voted for Trump refused to go along with this. Respect to her but also concerning.
