It’s bizarre that the white-collar party in the US is pro-union and the blue-collar party is anti-union.
I think to a lot of college educated Democrats, they’re not actually pro-union. Instead, they see unionization as way of indirectly subsidizing the working class and atoning some of their economic guilt. But if the working class doesn’t want unions, they’re not gonna go to bat for them.
