Promoting sitting in traffic for no real reason to own the libs.

Surely this will go to the courts as a federalism issue right?

>the letter from Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy to Ms. Hochul revoking certain federal permissions necessary for the tolling program to go into effect.
Whole ass article doesn’t even explain how Trump can repeal a municipal tax, and only vaguely alludes to it in the last sentence. The failing NYT.

This shit is straight up overreach. These fucks don’t give a damn about states rights. Hochul should fire Adams just to hit back

His reasoning is that it will draw business away from downtown… isn’t that a local issue? I don’t understand how that’s a reason for the federal government to be involved.
You already have the “pickup-driving Confederate-fantasist chud from rural NJ” vote, dummy.

I’ve never before experienced a presidential administration with which I have zero overlapping policy goals. The Venn diagram of our ideologies is two completely separate circles. It makes every day very bleak.

Not a NYer, any negative effects of the policy on the areas just outside the congestion pricing zones?

NYC should narrow all the southbound roads into Midtown, except for 5th avenue. That way all the traffic gets directed into a massive gridlock right in front of Trump Tower, while still achieving a broader reduction in road traffic.

If this sets precedent that the federal government can dictate municipal planning I will be so owned.

Somebody let him know it’s not really a congestion tax, it’s just a tariff on imported traffic

As a supported I understand why this is “controversial” (carbrains). What I don’t get is why/how this exceptional? Why hasn’t this just been like a toll road, why has this needed special permissions and why do the Feds have any influence? Is the process for congestion pricing different than for a toll highway or bridge?
