They are absolutely in some real danger, but my God it is so hard to feel sorry for them. They encouraged this at *every fucking step,* because they thought it would benefit them and they thought they would be able to control it. And not only have people been warning them for years, they’ve had *so many chances* to draw the line and step off the ship, and we know this because we watched some of them start to do it before they caved to peer pressure. I’m not sorry that they’re scared, they are the dogs who keep catching the car even after it runs over half of them.

Here’s something I don’t understand: Why are republicans afraid violence against themselves and democrats mostly don’t seem to mind?
I’m not sure I buy articles like this.

They worry too much about what trumpers will do to them and too little about what will happen should Trump get what he wants.

the load bearing wall of republican virtue (that is the virtue of a citizen of a republic) demands one not only abnegate their own fears but whatever reason they have to fear only demands one redouble their opposition towards it
>We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men — not from men who feared to write, to speak, to associate and to defend causes that were, for the moment, unpopular.

All I can say is: what an absolute bunch of spineless, gutless, jellyfish-bodied little pussies.
Chris Murphy, AOC, Jasmine Crockett, Jamie Raskin, J.B. Pritzker, and many others are out there publicly excoriating Trump on a daily basis. If they can do it, so can Republicans.

As they should’ve been years ago.

Why do you think one of Trump’s first acts was to give a blanket pardon to the January 6th rioters.
Trump gave legitimacy to these threats of violence and basically told these people “if you kill someone in DC on my behalf I’ll make sure you won’t face any consequences”.

Let’s just hope that when Trump dies, Vance is incapable of capturing the MAGAt base the way Trump did, and that the republican block falls apart without the threat of Trump

Democrats are publicly shitting on Trump every day and getting threats. Do not believe this lie that Republicans are genuinely afraid of violence. They are just looking for an easy excuse to avoid their responsibilities.
