35 – 38% is the same level of approval rating he had throughout his first term, right? If so, nothing has changed so far, other than some republicans being disillusioned with social security and healthcare cuts
I know the common saying is that voters will abandon the incumbent, as soon as they feel the effect of the policies on their wallets, but if the past decade has taught us anything, it’s that the electorate can be easily manipulated with emotionally appealing “She’s for they / them, He’s for you” ads.
Feel like people have forgotten just how recently it was when straight up gay bashing was socially and politically acceptable. We made a lot of progress over the last decade or two, but the right wing propaganda against the trans community has been working, and people are fooling themselves if they think they won’t eventually try to come after L/G/B folks too
