That was their platform. Trump has no real policy positions he doesn’t actually know anything. They ran on culture war issues because they can’t articulate any real policies.

Trump’s Gaza plan consistently gets like 15ish% support versus like 60ish% disapproval in the five polls I’ve seen; it genuinely might be one of the 2-3 most unpopular things he has ever proposed and yet he can’t completely let go of it for some reason even though much of his own administration distances themselves from it
Trump voters seem to hate trans people so much that they will accept the destruction of the entire country rather than let a handful of trans girls play high school sports
