This has got to be the definition of fascist economic policies.

Completely illiberal, thoughtless deregulation, anti-trade, cutting spending and cutting revenue even more, eliminating goverment capacity and even eliminating pro-growth developments whenever possible, all while a few corporate leaders with inside connections try to get the largest possible slice of the pie, which is smaller than it ought to be.

The thing is, this isn’t predicated on a specific economic ideology, but it’s something that seem to emerge every time with fascism, there’s something that feels bizarre to me about this, it feels incongruous with what any logically ***should*** happen.

It’s like a chimera born out of all the wrong people being in charge that minmaxes the worst possible outcome that can happen without immediate collapse and without a truly cohesive structure. How the hell can it happen so often?

Oh fuck, I need to try to stop forming narratives and cohesive explanations in my brain, I feel like this is making me know less about economics and politcs than before.

  2. > The funds were disbursed as part of the $27 billion Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, which was created by the Inflation Reduction Act, a law passed by Congress in 2022. Of that, the EPA received $14 billion for a National Clean Investment Fund, which provides grants to green banks.

I hate the sanewashing by the media calling this an attempt to “clawback funding”. No, it’s this administration illegally stopping funds authorized by Congress
