Waymo is legitimately so much better than Uber. I hate going to cities where you’re stuck with only Uber & Lyft as options, it feels like going back in time

I was in a tour group today that included two women who were social workers for the VA. Another woman said her father, husband and son had all served in the military. When one of the VA women sighed that she hopes she still has a job in a few weeks, I grimaced and said, ‘Yeah, there’s nothing like random firings, that seems like good management.’
The dependa spouse got angsty and said that she knows people who work for the VA and during COVID they got to work from home, and they were being paid over $100k a year to work from home, and everyone knows they weren’t working 8 hours a day, so there are a lot of people who should be fired.
So in the conservative brain working from home during COVID means you shouldn’t have a job now, I guess.
