>It is a cruel irony for Schumer. Almost exactly eight months ago, he was the one sitting down with Joe Biden at the then-president’s beach house, urging him to step aside. Now, the 74-year-old Senate leader is the one being painted as too geriatric—with calls for him to give up his leadership growing louder and more impassioned.
Ironic, isn’t it?

knives are definitely out for him. I really think Durbin is gonna retire and even if he doesn’t i dont see dems holding their water for an 80 year old incumbent political players are gonna jump in. Hes gonna lose his right hand in 2026. His leadership is primarily the older senators that are stepping down weakening his position.

I’ll give Pelosi some credit – she had already stepped away from House leadership herself when she was forced to do the dirty work and stick a knife in Biden’s back for being too old. Schumer should follow suit.
Democrats are already leaderless, rudderless, and completely impotent. They have nothing to lose because they’ve lost everything. If now isn’t the time to be swapping out the Senior members of the party for younger faces, then when, exactly? They don’t even need to retire! Just sit back and let someone under 65 call the shots.

Schumer likes Trump in charge.
