    Trump has a map up showing “Gulf of America” during Conor McGregor’s visit.

      Because all the talk about Great Again is just cope for a small minded movement with petty concerns and disdain for anybody that actually cares about anything.

      I’m sure that last week I’ve seen this exact map of the “Gulf of America” just standing in the background behind Trump.

      While not directly related, I have noticed that politics has become infused in everyday life in America. While sports have always been political to an extent, I don’t recall it being like this. For example, UFC is super right-coded now while the NBA is left-coded. The NFL I guess is kinda in the middle, maybe slightly conservative leaning.

      Imagine it’s October 2016 and you were shown this picture by a time traveller. And then they tell you it’s from 2025.

      You could say “That guys a rapist!” about this picture and you could be talking about any of the adult men in the room.

      I suspect that the “Gulf of America” represents power, even if only a symbolic form of it, to Trump. He simply declared that the body of water would be renamed, and so then employees of the federal government began to replace the old name in official documents. Not only did his administration’s spokespeople begin to use the new name, but also news organizations, weather reporters, and even Google and Apple. And all because he said that would be the new name of it. It’s the perfect distillation of power.
