Roberts coming in with the rare W. The judiciary is one of the last remaining guardrails against outright authoritarianism and it’s good to see at least some institutional pushback. The real problem is that a huge chunk of the GOP is fully on board with dismantling judicial independence if it gets them the rulings they want.

When I first got this notification from Reuters, I thought the article was saying Roberts doesn’t think it is appropriate to impeach Trump for his actions which I thought fine enough, Roberts is obviously pro-Trump.
I didn’t realize he was saying the judge shouldn’t be impeached…. We’re so unbelievably fucked. Trump’s admin called for impeachment of a judge for doing something they dislike.
Someone cue up the “I’m running out of words to describe how bad this is” picture.
