  1. Damn when he is unhinged and flailing around in public his supporters can’t help but love him more

But if i become unhinged and start flailing around in public I’m “an embarrassment” and “detrimental to the company’s reputation”

And people got downvoted in the social security thread for suggesting gutting SS will not erode his support

Well yeah, almost everything he’s done so far is dumb shit that he actively campaigned on and that his base have wanted for years. They *want* the federal government destroyed, they *want* foreign allies humiliated and abandoned, they *want* non-whites tortured and deported, they *want* the ‘woke libs’ hurt and upset above all else. And Trump is giving it to them.

All of these things may be fucking awful, but voters generally like when the politicians they vote for actually do things. I’m sure this sounds foreign and shocking to many mainstream Democratic politicians.

If I was kept in a perpetual state of near-boiling rage due to my information ecosystem and grievances, I’d love him too

This feels like the most intellectually dishonest conversation ever. It’s not even that it’s completely outright BS like you would expect from MAGA. Instead it’s full of misrepresentations and intentionally ignoring things that don’t suit their argument.

I suddenly hate Bret Stephens with a passion that I have not felt since Paul Ryan was Speaker. What an absolute equivocating, cowardly buffoon. Shipping innocents off to an El Salvadorian blacksite is “legally iffy.” Unbelievable.

As for the rest, shit, these guys probably have more insight into the American public than I’d like to admit. I’m just a voicebox that parrots what Ezra Klein says these days but Democrats failed to make government work in so many ways the past 15 years. If CA was a state people could actually afford to live in, we might be looking at a significantly different balance of power right now. The equivocating on mask mandates versus the assault on civil liberties from the executive branch is eyeroll inducing, but it is unfortunately how the median American probably sees things.

  7. Nah, I think this is BS. They’re trying to wag the dog here. Trumps numbers are plummeting.

  8. As soon as these fucks are no longer in power (let’s start with the hypothetical that there are gonna be elections in the future…), we need to leave these people completely behind. Biden bailing out unions only for them to stab him in the back and endorse Trump was a gigantic mistake. Let them rot without their government handouts and focus on the parts of the electorate that isn’t completely brainrotted like these people, i.e the cities, (some) suburbs, and some of the median voters.

I read this earlier and still don’t know if they horribly gaslit me or am I trapped in a liberal bubble 🤦‍♀️
