    This article shows the pitfalls of industrial policies. We would have been better served if that money was used for pro-business policies like faster approvals, lower corporate taxes etc.

India had issued just $1.73 billion in incentives – or under 8% of the allocated funds, the document said.

    All things considered, reaching 37% of the target when you issued 8% of the funds isn’t a terrible result. Still, wild how the only examples of industrial policy that succeeded after ww3 occured in East Asia.

    I actually liked PLI. PLI failed because it was poorly implemented. Real PLI has never been tried.
