Schumer isn’t wrong to call this bluff, Dems bitch and moan online but don’t actually punish the party leadership in primaries. Until that happens, they aren’t going to give a shit about the complaints

The base wants a head on a platter for the lackluster response to Trumps return and the failure of 2024 , his shitty handling of shutdown means they want him. At a certain point senators up for reelection in 2026 will be asked about why they support him with the primary swell that is forming i doubt they line up to back him

What I’m really struggling with is trying to understand _why_? Usually I can guess at people’s motives, even if I disagree with them. Schumer isn’t stupid, but I’m struggling to see the angle here. What does this gain?

I think this is why I disagree with those who call Biden selfish. As far as things go he let go pretty quickly for a situation where most people tend to get their heckles up.
