    Well yeah, Hillary would have won in a landslide if it weren’t for the emails, and Harris very well could have had a chance of winning if she were willing to throw dementia Joe under the bus

    No shit. Women have been in every elected office except the presidency. Just screaming misogyny with a sample size of 2 very close elections doesn’t mean much

  4. quite frankly this may be social desirability bias impacting the responses

    very few people will say they won’t vote for someone because of their gender or skin color – they’ll just have unfair purity testing for those candidates to the point where they won’t vote for them anyway

    in theory they aren’t less electable. in practice people are hypocrites.

    and there are still quite a lot of people – including women – that don’t think a woman should be president.

    (misogyny is the world’s oldest prejudice)

    I think it’s incorrect to extrapolate from the article’s data on lower political offices to the president.

    The president is special, as the chief executive, and I wouldn’t be surprised voters were more sexist about it compared to a random house seat.
