I understand the necessity for security at an event where there’s going to be literally thousands of people, and you can’t predict their behavior whatsoever, especially when the I/P protestors have reliable shown themselves to have the potential for violence.
But, the “house dems” quoted in the article sound like weird pansies and I don’t know why you’d say half of this shit openly to the media, it’s just weak optics. “B-but, they won’t stay inside the designated protest zone!” yeah that’s how disruptive protest works. Do dem lawmakers want to associate disruptive protest immediately with violence now?
