  1. One of the most repugnant Republicans I’ve seen for sure. Guy literally celebrated the murder of an unarmed American citizen by the IDF and has made multiple clearly genocidal tweets about Palestinians.

    [And this unhinged tweet](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GnFm7d9WcAA-cOB?format=jpg&name=medium)

But he did underachieve significantly given it’s a R+30 district and the news about the GOP panicking got him the votes he needed to win

His margin of victory is looking way lower then Waltz from a few months ago but it is a special election so hard to tell how much of that was just lower turnout. Still some big turns in some counties

This is the guy who said “there are no innocent Palestinians” in response to children dying in Gaza BTW

  4. This is still a slight win for Democrats.

In 2024, this seat went +30 for Republicans. Tonight, it went +10. That is a 20 point shift which is insanity.

For those unaware, a +5 shift nation wide would mean senate seats in Texas start being in play. At +10 you are looking at democrats getting 60+ seats.

Yes, this is super early to say what will happen in 2026, but you also have to realize much of what Trump has done still hasn’t started affecting everyday people. When the recession hits this summer/fall, Republican support will fall even further.

If I was a republican right now, I’d be quite worried about 2026 right now.

  5. Disappointing but expected, it’s an extremely red district of Florida after all.

But the fact that they had to have Trump himself stage a tele rally and were sounding the alarm last week isn’t good news for the GOP
