I really do think that going after rent-seeking behaviour is a slam-dunk in terms of policy that’s politically popular.
Policies like making it easier to cancel a service, under-cutting monopolies, or taxing under-utilised land are an incredible way to make everyone’s lives easier without introducing big negative externalities.
