Interesting. Stating the intent to change the filibuster is a double-edged sword. It energizes Democrats because it implies important policies could be passed, but it also energizes Republicans because it implies policies they don’t like could be passed.
I guess in general high turnout favors Dems so the strategy makes sense

Possibly unpopular opinion, but I think the filibuster needs dropped whether it benefits we Democrats or not. America has gotten way to high way too long on ragebait, and the filibuster means nobody has to actually see what the insanity looks like in practice. It would suck, but if Americans vote a majority in, they deserve to see what the policy of the majority looks like good or ill. If it’s good, it’ll eventually be too popular to get rid of. If it’s bad, people will eventually get sick of it. We need some way to achieve policy equilibrium: the lowest common denominator that people are no longer willing to fight over.
