M23 now having taken Goma and Bukavu is now facing the task of governing these cities. Hearing about the difficulties faced by the civilians in these cities is harsh and I hope any actions taken in the future take into consideration the welfare of the civilian populations of these cities.
It’s a difficult situation where ideally banks and companies do not strengthen M23 by operating areas they control but at the same time, the civilians will feel these effects most severely. The ideal situation would have been to see M23 defeated swiftly, but failing that the future of Eastern Congo seems unclear.
