or *Aetole tripunctella*. a type of sun moth. small, streamlined, metallic, and brightly colored. they look like they have spurs sticking out of their backs, but those are actually their hind legs which, like many sun moths, they stick up threateningly while at rest. they also have a tendency to twiddle their antennae together as they settle down after landing

    > What is this…some kind of Star Wars?

My favorite part of the Andor finale.

  3. >*New York Times*: Some Israeli military officials have privately concluded that Palestinians in Gaza face widespread starvation unless aid deliveries are restored within weeks, according to three Israeli defense officials familiar with conditions in the enclave.

    >For months, Israel has maintained that its blockade on food and fuel to Gaza did not pose a major threat to civilian life in the territory, even as the United Nations and other aid agencies have said a famine was looming. **But Israeli military officers who monitor humanitarian conditions in Gaza have warned their commanders in recent days that unless the blockade is lifted quickly, many areas of the enclave will likely run out of enough food to meet minimum daily nutritional needs—leading to widespread starvation– according to the defense officials.** They spoke on the condition of anonymity to share sensitive details.

    > The military officials’ analysis has exposed a gulf between Israel’s public stance on the aid blockade and its private deliberations. It reveals that parts of the Israeli security establishment have reached the same conclusions as leading aid groups. They have warned for months of the dangers posed by the blockade. On Monday, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, a U.N.-backed initiative that monitors malnutrition, warned that famine was imminent in Gaza. If Israel proceeds with a planned military escalation in Gaza, the initiative said in a summary report, “The vast majority of people in the Gaza Strip would not have access to food, water, shelter, and medicine.”

You know it’s incredibly bad when even the IDF is like “yeah this on the verge of something really horrible”.

You know if trump manages to stop Iran getting nukes, via negotiations or not, rebuilds relations with Syria, doesn’t let Israel kick everyone out of Gaza, gets Saudi Arabia into the Abraham accords and doesn’t completely abandon Ukraine, then his foreign policy will be wildly considered to be better than Biden’s by the general public

Hidden heart issues are scary, especially when it comes to athletes. I was at the game Friday with my mom for Mother’s Day and we saw Savy sit down, they passed to her, she gets back up and passes, lies down, and goes limp. Medics rushed to her side and checked her, looked like they started CPR compressions and used an AED.

Finally realized I needed to get CPR/AED training since it hit home I wouldn’t know what to do in a situation if a family member or coworker collapsed or went into cardiac arrest. Hope to never need it, but knowledge and training helps be prepared. I’d recommend others look into training too, just in case.

Yet again the internet is trying to convince me that a leader I respect (somewhat he’s a jihadi) is a world class glazer and that is why he’ll deal well with Trump. It wasn’t true with Zelenky it’s not true now. This is Trump 25, he agrees with whoever spoke (glazed) to him last
