Trump’s tariffs have so far caused little inflation. Our estimate of their impact will update every month

  1. Companies stockpiled ahead of time and are eating costs assuming the tariffs won’t last.

Yea it’s not as simple as we all like to think. When a country puts a 25% tariff on imports, the whole cost isn’t always passed on to the consumer. A lot of negotiation goes on between buyers and sellers that may lead to the seller absorbing a large amount of the cost as well

Part of me thinks companies kept inflation purposely high just so Harris would lose, and they would get tax breaks.

But little inflation? Have they been to any stores yet? Things are up more than they were a couple months ago, most food has gone up an extra $2, computer parts are like $50-$100 higher, $20 toys are now like $30, “little” is still a fucking lot for low income families.

If this was Biden/Harris, they definitely would be complaining and demanding impeachment just like they did before the election, when inflation was even less than it is now.
