Big brands are pulling back on Pride merchandise and events this year

  1. It’s honestly a bit harrowing to think we are in a situation where the brands think Pride is not worth it.

Like yeah, we all know they were fair-weather friends, but the fact itself that we are in the climate to demonstrate it is a bit worrying.

  2. I simply prefer to live in a society where being gay (etc) is accepted in the mainstream enough that businesses consider it beneficial to do pride stuff. It is a bad thing when that is not or ceases to be the case.

  3. We all knew companies had selfish motivations, but this seems very short-sighted of them.

“We stood by our principles when [other brand] immediately bowed to anti-LGBT pressure”. Imagine being able to say this for the next 50 years.

Unless they actually think pride is just going away forever now.

The sounds of insects from the forest may be annoying, but when they’re silent something feels very wrong.
