Core CPI (all items less food and energy) rose 0.1% MoM, 2.8% YoY (compared with 0.2% MoM, 2.8% YoY in April).

Consensus forecast for core CPI was 0.3% MoM, 2.9% YoY, so actual figures surprised on the low side.
