Some say Barak or Rabin but I believe Olmert is the Israeli leader who was most serious about peace with the Palestinians. His offer from the 2008 Annapolis conference is the most generous Palestinian statehood offer; he and Arafat’s nephew have been touting a peace plan which features his 2008 statehood offer. If we ever somehow get a peaceful resolution to this horrific conflict, it would be something along the lines of what Olmert proposed. He’s a very rational voice.
