No one on the Canadian side seems panicked. A few have said we should drop the tax (which would require legislation, and Parliament isn’t sitting right now). No one has come out in strong support of the tax, which is revealing.
There’s been some suggestion that the G7 tax deal will entail Canada doing something to the tax, but the PMO and Finance have thus far declined to comment on that. There was also a report that the negotiations are being run on the Canadian side like M&A negotiations (in that very few people know exactly what’s going on).

We should drop the DST, not due to anything regarding the orange baboon, but merely because it was a bad idea anyway
