Symbolism matters in defense of our Democracy. He is kneeling in the “Well” of the Minnesota State Capital building which symbolizes the center of Democratic thought and governance in the State. Their killer had a stated goal of creating an authoritarian anti-constitutional Trump dictatorship. There are only two sides now, those who defend and grow our Democracy and those who do not.
Ex-president. This term exists for a reason, and we shouldn’t become like trumpists.
