What’s sad, and perhaps literally dystopian, about this is where it was built. The “abandoned airport” in the Everglades is in the middle of nowhere because Miami started building it thinking that supersonic transports were coming and that a new airport far from anyone who would file a noise complaint would give them a leg up in attracting traffic. A relic of a better future.
