Yeah, the mainstream Dems inability to swap an old and tired candidate with loads of baggage out for a younger, less blemished one is one of the big reasons Mamdami won the NY Primary, and Trump won in 2024 (Dems removed Biden WAY too late in the race).
They need to nurture the new generation rather than cling onto the old guard if they want their legacy to survive beyond their time in office.

Dumping the “Gerontocracy” won’t suddenly make them competitive in Texas, Florida, and Ohio.
Having senile members in Congress is bad, but I think it’s just the latest thing that’s drawing attention away from actual solutions.
Edit: I phrased this poorly. There’s no excuse for having members like David Scott in office. But while they should be voted out, that won’t ultimately fix that many problems.
