The sheer stupidity of this and the ~1 month out timeline says he chickens out to me, but the fact we’ve already tried these tariff threats says it might be for real this time. Also weren’t we pretending we had a “deal” with Japan just like a month or two ago?
And as always we are doing pointless economic damage to ourselves either way 🙂

If any Democratic President were doing this kind of shit with tariffs, Republicans in Congress would be (rightfully) screaming from the rooftops calling for their head.
