I thought the iron dome is supposed to protect Israel from primitive, home made rockets. Idk if shahed drones fit that profile. And all other Russian ordinance that come to mind fit that profile even less.

Iron dome is actually a very capable low altitude air defense (LAAD) system.
Romania has a massive threat sitting just off its border/coastline with a massive fleet of drones and cruise missiles. A networked I-Dome system with relatively cheap interceptors is exactly what Romania’s SHORAD/VSHORAD procurement program called for.
