Just a few weeks ago, two journalists presented a story about the PMs company getting a shady subsidized loan from the governmental small business initiative.

What followed is near daily articles uncovering more and more shady dealings by the PM (who has already been convicted of corruption over 10 years ago).

Today, it finally comes to an end – the PM has resigned. It is currently unclear who's gonna take over.

  1. While I’m happy that he’s finally resigning, honestly thr whole party is shady as hell and I doubt a replacement will be better. The government has been stumbling from scandal to scandal since day one.

It’s also insane to me that it took two journalists to look over public data and uncover all of his shady dealings. I’m concerned that our institutions were apparently unwilling or unable to investigate him earlier, especially since he already holds a corruption conviction from 2012

  2. Was about to post this myself. Finally this guy will be gone, though I don’t expect his replacements to be much better. Also, it’s wild how all of this was just publicly available info that pretty much anyone could access.

If LaisvėsTV had English subtitles, I’d recommend checking their investigation on him out. It’s a good one.
