I think it’s probably about time to stop being so dismissive about this fact tbh.
Putin has adopted cynicism as a political ideology. I don’t think you can use rational reasoning as to why their plans to attack other countries are bullshit anymore.
We need to face the reality that an attack from Russia may happen regardless of how prepared Western countries actually are. We may not be able to deter them out of this, even if we do have overwhelming military superiority, especially with how hard it’d actually be to defend the Baltics.

I just don’t see what Russia could possibly hope to gain by doing so. Do they think they can attack a nuclear armed state and not face any risk of retaliation?

Who would it attack? Georgia?
I think we made a mistake not supporting Chechnya’s independence…..It was a much more secular place before Kadyrov took over.
