Corporate America is angry that they cannot abuse South Korean workers anymore. “Yellow Envelope Law” is a basic labor right issue which is enshrined in 1987 constitution. This bans excessive damage litigation against South Korea’s labor unions, which has been harming working condition by limiting the activities of labor unions. This also allows gig workers to unionize, making workers protected in the new gig economic model. This kind of laws already exists in the west, so this is nothing new. I would say South Korea late on creating this law.
