      Sucks to suck maybe they should have developed useful drugs that will replace that revenue.

      Also yes, I`ve been waiting eagerly for this – the cliff is actually a bit larger as some expire earlier and others as late as 2030 internationally. But it is gonna be a immensely positive thing for patients worldwide.

      Next year we are gonna see semaglutide patent expire in brasil and we are gonna be able to get fraction-of-cost generics and its gonna genuinely be a revolution for primary care if/when our government adds it to our free medication program (“Farmacia popular”).

      For all its problems ,the patent system does reward, but most importantly, FORCES innovation for Pharma companies

      Once patents expire, drug prices on the European market go down by 70-90% within years, and especially national health insurance providers have no mercy in expecting deep price cuts for those generic

      Pharma companies can never rest. Its like trying to stop running on a treadmill, you will collapse down on your face

      And this goes especially for companies who are lucky to strike a major drug discovery like Keytruda or Ozempic. You have to innovate A SHITLOAD to try to come up with something to replace the missing profits, you might need 10 new drugs to replace it
