No One Can Offer Any Hope. Even if most Americans haven’t abandoned their private sense of empathy, many don’t seem terribly bothered by the rancidness of their leaders.

    I’ve said it once and I’ll keep saying it, if that dumbass Ford didn’t pardon Nixon then maybe we’d set some sort of precedent of how we deal with leaders who break the law.

    This but unironically is probably summing up my current estimation of the average person. Even structures based on assumed adversarial self interest are breaking down because Osho.png.

    People don’t *want* hope. We got the whole “hope and change” line from Obama, and he didn’t magically fix everything, so now people are cynical whiny babies who want to feel bad and embrace pessimism and cynicism. Anyone offering “hope” will be seen as a cringe unrealistic loser

    (I guess it’s time to pivot to focusing on the national debt?)
