A very interesting article I feel on coastal erosion and beach nourishment, both the necessity of it and its drawbacks. As climate change increases in severity and we face more of the drawbacks of this new world, coastal areas are going to be more exposed to difficulties and hazards, in part from the erosion of coastlines making many houses no longer liveable. The question then is how we are to approach this issue, especially recognising that it will not be possible to bring new sand to the world’s beaches forever, yet at the same time it is highly expensive to have to retreat.
