    > The government needs to stop children using virtual private networks (VPNs) to bypass age checks on porn sites, the children’s commissioner for England has said.

It’s insane. Labor is elected to do something about rising cost of living and instead they spend all their energy banning porn.

  3. There simply isn’t a way to stop horny young people from exploring, they will always find a way.

I am sorry but that’s the fact Labour

  4. > She wants ministers to explore requiring VPNs “to implement highly effective age assurances to stop underage users from accessing pornography.”

VPN services that will ignore this and not require any age verification will still exist. If the UK really wants to stop porn at all costs they’d have to go the Chinese route and firewall the whole country. Otherwise the internet is just too unregulated and there are too many countries that couldn’t care less about laws in western countries (same with porn sites that are ignoring the requirement to verify).

  5. Because I have run into people in the DT saying that there’s no legitimate use for VPNs, I want to make clear that VPNs are fundamental to the cybersecurity practices of nearly every single company that allows remote access of company infrastructure and resources.

Banning VPNs entirely is a non-starter.
