I don’t think there’s an alterior motive to it, I think people are just intellectually lazy and chatgpt is making it worse. I’ve had questions come up with stuff at work and coworkers will say “Let’s ask chatgpt”. No, I’m actually going to research it myself and figure out the answer. I don’t need a system that can and has made up totally fictional answers trying to solve my problem for me.

AI is a powerful tool, but people are relying on it for way too much. And often times for stuff they should figure out themselves. It’s just like when our math teachers wouldn’t let us use a calculator because we needed to learn how to do it ourselves first.
