Flag burning bans are fundamentally against the principles of freedom of speech. How can a country claim to have freedom, when they hold a piece of cloth as sacred and beyond reproach? They care more about a symbol representing the principle of freedom, than the principle itself.
And the saddest part is, because the Supreme Court has been deciding more and more along the lines of what Trump wants, Texas v. Johnson might get overturned if a case makes its way up the process. There’s no protection when all three branches are compromised.

Pretty low-IQ move here.
Purely performative as all it is going to accomplish is to force somebody backed by some lawyer group like the ACLU to go burn a flag and get a victory in the court when they try to prosecute.
That way they can go and do a song and dance about how some members in the courts are “activist judges” and “antiamerican” song and dance straight out of the 1990’s era conservative talk radio playbook.
