Ten years later, “Wir schaffen das” has proved a pyrrhic victory

The far-right surged in most of Europe in the last ten years. Merkel’s migration policies almost certainly helped the AfD in the short run, but would they have happened anyway? What with media dynamics, Russian propaganda, the War in Ukraine, and migrant push factors in the Middle East happening anyway.
