U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. plans to announce that use of the popular over-the-counter pain medication Tylenol, first used clinically in the U.S. in 1950, in pregnant women is potentially linked to autism, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter, without including evidence for the claims.
Kennedy, in the report, will also suggest a medicine derived from folate called folinic acid can be used to treat symptoms, but not cure victims of autism in some people, the WSJ reported.

Potentially, might, may, could…. but nothing that confirms it does.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a heroin junkie with a brainworm and who eats roadkill. More importantly, he has no background in anything related to health, medicine or science.
The moment we stop listening to him is the moment we all become smarter.

I, for one, do not trust heroin users on anything related to health. It’s like trusting a gambler who has filed for bankruptcy 3x how to invest.

I’ve never been a fan of Acetaminophen (Tylenol) compared to other alternatives out there, especially for long-term usage. It has worked *absolute wonders* for some things out there (it actually was surprisingly effective at mitigating some of the symptoms of COVID.) But its useful dosage is so damn close to dosages that are toxic to the liver and kidneys that *so many people* ignore the recommended dosage due to Darwin’s “morer is betterer” crowd.
>Tylenol is the second most common cause of liver transplantation worldwide and the leading cause of acute liver failure in the United States.
Like pseudoephedrine; but for a different reason; it should be one of those semi-OTCs with a purchasing process that’s a little more complicated than just picking it up off the shelf. Whether it’s behind a locking-mechanism opened by a brief quiz & disclaimer done by voice, a brief-consultation from a lightly-trained cashier, or even by a bi-annually renewing pharmacist ‘for everyone ‘ prescription after you’ve heard or listened to a video of its spiel.. tylenol overdosing can be very damaging and has well-in-reach side-effects should be a lot more broadcasted.
I knew a fairly intelligent person who was dosing them just a little more frequently than recommended and an extra tablet for chronic issues, thinking nothing of it. As they got older, the dosage and frequency creeped and entered the excessive. Absolutely her fault, but I think the popping stigma of OTCs in our country tends to drive complacency. Eventually, she began having some on-going health problems, couldn’t figure it out for a while, but luckily had a good doctor who finally asked the right question. When answered, the doctor pretty much dropped their jaw and gave the spiel. *And I think we’ve all seen that one OTC popper in the workplace who insists it’s ok.*
I don’t know if RFK is usually real, properly researched sources for his claim – but with the substance at least Tylenol is definitely a bigger issue than we like to recognize. Be careful with it and talk to a doctor, especially for long-term usage.
