Free speech has to be protected. That’s non negotiable. But let’s be real, calling someone a Nazi, fascist, white supremacist, or racist when they aren’t isn’t debate. It’s a lie. And when enough people repeat that lie, it makes violence against them look justified.

Look at Charlie Kirk. You don’t have to like him to see what happened. The nonstop labeling turned him into a target. And the evidence shows it — the killer was radicalized by leftist rhetoric, the same Antifa style garbage that keeps painting anyone on the right as a Nazi. That is what pushed him to the extreme.

This doesn’t mean we restrict free speech. People are free to be wrong, stupid, even hateful. But that doesn’t mean they should be taken seriously. When someone throws around those labels without proof, we need to start calling them out. Not with censorship, but with accountability.

You can debate policy without turning your opponent into a monster. You can criticize ideas without lying. If we don’t start pushing back on this, the people who claim to fight extremism will keep becoming the extremists.

Edit: we need to stop listening to people who behave like this…

    OMG Yes, exactly!

And I hate to say this, but what happened might just make those liars feel that saying those lies actually “worked”.

Besides calling out the liars, I think is necessary to contribue more to create more awareness that those are lies.

but, its okay because the left is for “peace, love and acceptance.” They define it on a case by case basis and violence is tolerated when they feel the need for it.

  3. The biggest (and most dangerous) lie is “that’s violence!”

“I think trans people have a mental illness.” “That’s violence against trans people!”

“I think drag queen story hour is child abuse.” “That’s violence against LGBTQ+++++ people!”

There is no violence in having an opinion, but it gives the other side all the reason they need to commit acts of genuine violence.

  4. The basic problem has basically been that social media and Reddit for a good while have been echo chambers and news media have been pushing narratives that have caused division and over time a refusal to listen.

Honestly, it’s because there hasn’t been much free speech that the problem has escalated, if people had been talking openly from the get go most wouldn’t have become radicalised to begin with in my opinion

  5. Most of them have no idea how to argue their beleifs. They believe these things because of indoctrination and flat-out habit. It is what they are around they believe it but have never rationalized any of it to themselves. The people pushing this garbage know this, and that is why they teach these kids that “speech is violence” and that anything that goes against their leftist beleifs is a hate crime. They will call you a fascist (yet could never define if) racist , bigot, or some variation of phobe . This excuses them of having to debate” why would I have a cordial discussion with you, you promote hateful and violent speech , you basically a nazi in fact, your speech is so violent im entitled to violence too( actually, violence”

They have taken on extremist views and know they will fall apart under any scrutiny, so they project that onto you. You are the radical”far right “extremist .

I am not for censorship, though. Even on this forum, I see people I am debating get their posts deleted. I probably disagree with everything the person says, but I am fully comfortable presenting my case. You won’t win anyone over by silencing them the way the left does to us. Libertarians views are very easy to defend, and socialist views are easy to poke holes in. This place should not be an echo chamber. The left(and some of the right) do enoghh of that. I really hope the mod eases up the post deleting we should be convincing others with words.

They fight fascism or communism in their opinions not realizing a simple disagreement on a single subject or term doesn’t mean someone is your enemy. Their constant fighting is polarizing and is actually doing more harm than good.

I blame social media echo chambers. I think the wildest thing is watching someone from left and right have an actual debate and the physical pain that spreads across their faces when someone disagrees with them. They’re not used to having to justify their positions or opinions and actually stammer to support their beliefs.
