I am quite confused about what the objective is here. I just watched part of a Novara Media podcast – it was hard. So, the aim is to challenge the far right electorally through these parties: Greens and Your Party but wouldn’t that just split the vote? They reference the US and what happened there with the rise of Trump, but wasn’t that partly a consequence of people refusing to compromise? By not voting for Kamala, they effectively allowed Trump to win.
I can’t fully comprehend what the long-term plan is. There’s only a certain and limited segment of society who are their natural voter base . I understand being pissed off and disappointed with Labour, but isn’t the alternative of Reform far worse? When the economy has gone down the drain, we’ve become a Trump puppet, and net zero is something of the past, saying “oh, I refused to vote for Labour because of x, I saw Your Party or the Greens as potential winners” will seem like a lacklustre excuse that in the future we’ll look back on with shame, embarrassment and short-sightedness.
I may have just become ‘too online’, where a minority of voices tout issues the wider public simply don’t care about.
Wouldn’t it be best to consolidate around Labour or the Lib Dems? I don’t want to sound too much like AC we should criticise Labour but god the alternative is a lot worse in my mind.
