Dominant manufacturer makes more manufacturing stuff isn’t that shocking of an outcome, is it? Also, there was a good article here a few months back that the reason Japan/UK/USA/Germany lag is because factories being much older there than in China despite some of them leading in making industrial robots.

Per capita is also pretty impressive, but they’re still not the gold standard. South Korea has just an insane automation ratio, and imo is the path for a rich nation (or one becoming wealthier, anyway) that still wants to maintain manufacturing
Really, the most surprising part of the statistics is that France and other European countries are so low
