When I lived in Southeast Asia, many governments were doing everything they could to get more cars off the roads to reduce traffic, something many developing countries have sought to pursue. In fact, I now associate mass car ownership, poor public transit, and horrific congestion with under-development and Third World problems.
So when I see this admin seemingly do everything they could to defund public transit and cycling infrastructure, they aren’t just trying to become the Third World, but degrowth themselves something even stupider.
