I’m seeing multiple photos going viral on X about first photos of 3i Atlas coming from mars perseverance . If Atlas is indeed this cylindrical then it really does change the entire narrative on what this object really is. I’m looking forward to seeing more in the next 24 hours

Long exposure because the equipment on board those spacecraft are no designed to track something so far away and moving so quickly.
This kind of smudge is to be expected and it can still tell us things.
One thing is that it either isn’t rotating at all or it has a uniformly light reflective surface.
