Lutnick is as much of a dyed in the wool protectionist as Trump.
They miss smokestacks and factories and big trains. Their beliefs are fundamentally rooted in nostalgia and aesthetics; we will never get a “deal” if Lutnick has more influence than Bessent or Miran, who are protectionists for their own convoluted theory that is at least partially rooted in macroeconomics (though also dumb)
